Studio 41, An American Craft Gallery
Each art glass studio is individually recognized for its distinctive style of hand blown glass. While visitng these studios the public is invited to view the glass blowers at work. Studio 41, An American Craft Gallery, represents over 450 American artisans works in jewelry, wood, pottery, glass, furniture, candles, art to wear, and much more.
The historic neighborhoods and Benicia's water views have attracted artists with international reputations, such as Jack London, who visited Benicia on many occasions. Well-known local artist, the late Robert Arneson, built both his home and studio on First Street, near the waterfront where he played as a child. The site is distinguished by the famous Arneson bricks embedded in the sidewalk.
There are two organizations in Benicia supporting culture and the arts. Benicia Community Arts (BCA) was established in 1980 to increase participation in the arts. Arts Benicia is the official arts body for the city to coordinate all areas of the arts to benefit the public. The Arts Benicia Center Gallery is located at 991 Tyler Street, Suite 114.
