The Business of the Year selection committee had a task before them this year that no one envied. Criteria for nomination was: Demonstration of ethics and integrity in business practices; demonstration of leadership and excellence through customer service, employee development, safety, creativity, and innovation; demonstration in commitment to supporting and promoting Benicia Chamber of Commerce activities.

Winners in three categories (based on number of employees) were announced at the Chamber’s Annual Installation of Officers & Business of the Year Awards Banquet on January 27th, 2006 at the historic Clocktower. Taking home the honors were: (1-3 category) Vern Sandusky - Network Solutions; (4-24 category) Metropolitan Van & Storage; (25 & over category) Bill & Leeann Cawley - Benicia Plumbing, Inc. The winners were congratulated and thanked for their numerous contributions not only to the business community but to the entire city.
