Susan Hurl, Community Affairs Manager for Allied Waste Industries, Inc., was installed as the 2006 Chairperson of the Benicia Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors at the Installation of Officers Banquet in January. The annual event was attended by approximately 175 city and county officials, business community leaders, past presidents of the Chamber and friends.

Martha Christopher, proprietor of her own human resource, safety and risk management consulting business, The Christopher Group, will serve as Vice Chair of the Board. Peter Lepley, Humane Services Director of the Benicia/Vallejo Humane Society, took the oath of office to serve as Vice Chair of Finance for 2006. Rounding out the Executive Committee is Immediate Past Chair of the Board, Dr. Greg Kaufman, owner of Kaufman Chiropractic. Kaufman reviewed the Chamber’s accomplishments in 2005 during his year of leadership.

Rounding out the 15 member Board of Directors for 2006 are: Tommy Dobrzykowski – West Coast Beauty Systems; Tom Gavin – Gavin & Schreiner Insurance; Scott Goldie – Brooks Street; Frances Harkins – Grossman Financial Management; Jim Harris – The Inn At Benicia Bay; Chris Howe – Valero Refining Company - Califonia; Corrine Oakes – Hamman Real Estate; Michael Paric – Computer Business Solutions; Eldon Petersen – Petersen Janitorial; Grant Perryman – Costco Wholesale; and Rely Pio Roda – Nationwide Auction Systems.

Retiring directors, Mark Lobdell – UBS Financial; Vinny Moretti – Benicia Home Improvement Center; Bill Webber – Bank of the West; and Guy Young- Valero Refining Company – California, were recognized for fulfilling their terms as dedicated Board members.
