Due to the generosity of several local businesses and individuals, the Benicia Chamber of Commerce Education Task Force, chaired by CPA Vicky Sagehorn, was able to provide backpacks to elementary school students who may have difficulty purchasing school supplies to start the school year. Sagehorn worked directly with the school principals who distributed the backpacks complete with school supplies. Sponsors of the program wanted to ensure all Benicia children start off the school year on a positive note, ready to learn.
